Grattan Creek is now available at
Black Dog Salvage in Roanoke.

Hey Roanoke folk,

You probably already know about Black Dog Salvage. You probably know about their long-running TV show and, if you're anywhere near Roanoke, you've probably visited a time or two. And, you probably know that it's worth visiting again because the inventory is always changing and they feature goods from something like 70 artists and craftspeople. You may even know about their monthly Dog Bowl events with even more local vendors, music and food trucks.

Now you can pick up a few bars of Grattan Creek Handcrafted soap while you're looking for reclaimed items or browsing for gifts and goodies.

Follow Black Dog on facebook for more info and updates. Then visit them at 902 13th St SW, Roanoke, VA 24016.

About Us

Who We Are

Grattan Creek Handcrafted is located on our little chunk of dirt in the little city of Martinsville, Virginia. Grattan Creek runs through our backyard, which we share with squirrels, deer, groundhogs, the occasional coyote and maybe a snake or two. Unlike bigger cities we've lived in, the birds make a heck of a lot more noise than traffic or the neighbors.

We started making soap some time ago because we didn't like the soaps that were available at our local grocery. We make soap with natural oils like olive, sunflower and coconut oil. We use natural and traditional ingredients like goats' milk, pine tar, honey and colloidal oatmeal.

When you make soap, you can't help but make way more than you can possibly use yourself, so we started sharing with friends and co-workers. They started coming back for more and here we are.

Now we have also added handcrafted items from our woodshop to the table. Check out the gallery for examples of our work.
