News from Grattan Creek

What's new at the Creek?

Stay in the know about what’s happening at Grattan Creek Handcrafted through our regular articles and posts. Our team keeps its ears to the ground and eyes on the next big thing so we can bring those trends to you, so check out the latest stories below.

Where can I buy Grattan Creek stuff?

Grattan Creek handcrafted soaps are available at;
Black Dog Salvage in Roanoke and the Ground Floor coffee shop in Uptown Martinsville.

Grattan Creek yarn bowls are available for purchase at Yarn Seasons in Hardy, VA and at the Wool Workshop in Roanoke.

For the moment I have shut down the online shopping cart while I find a better solution to fit my business model. 2022 is a year of change for us as we look for better ways to make our products available to you.

Please follow my Facebook page at facebook.com/GrattanCreek for more current news and info on markets and pop ups that we will be participating in through the year.

About Us

Who We Are

Grattan Creek Handcrafted is located on our little chunk of dirt in the little city of Martinsville, Virginia. Grattan Creek runs through our backyard, which we share with squirrels, deer, groundhogs, the occasional coyote and maybe a snake or two. Unlike bigger cities we've lived in, the birds make a heck of a lot more noise than traffic or the neighbors.

We started making soap some time ago because we didn't like the soaps that were available at our local grocery. We make soap with natural oils like olive, sunflower and coconut oil. We use natural and traditional ingredients like goats' milk, pine tar, honey and colloidal oatmeal.

When you make soap, you can't help but make way more than you can possibly use yourself, so we started sharing with friends and co-workers. They started coming back for more and here we are.

Now we have also added handcrafted items from our woodshop to the table. Check out the gallery for examples of our work.
